8 DAYS GREAT WILDEBEST (GNU) MIGRATION – MARA RIVER CROSSING
CATEGORY: WILDLIFE SAFARI
Arusha City | Lake Manyara National Park | Serengeti | Ngorongoro crater
8 Days | 7 Nights
Kilimanjaro International Airport
The Mara River Crossing is most famous for the legendary wildebeest crossing, a dramatic event, which is featured in countless wildlife documentaries. One of Tanzania’s best kept secret is the fact that nearly half of the Mara River is situated in the North Serengeti versus the Masai Mara’s segment in Kenya. Parks to be visited in this tour are Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. This tour will give you the opportunity to see the famous great migration (approximately 2,000,000 wildebeests and 800,000 zebras) crossing the Mara river while the crocodiles attack then. You will also have a chance to see the endangered black rhino. This is one of the unique adventures one can ever encounter on safari.

After breakfast we will depart the lodge with packed lunch and drive to Serengeti National park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the rim for a spectacular view of the Ngorongoro crater. Continuing as far as the eyes can see is the vast Serengeti. “Serengeti” means endless plain. And this is 6900 sq. mile (1800 sq. km). It is also home to 2,000,000 wildebeests and 800,000 zebras. Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, it is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. In central Serengeti, you will have high chances of seeing the elephants, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, gazelles, impalas, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many more. Dinner and accommodation will be at Tanzania Pure Tented Camp in Central Serengeti.
Day 4: Great Migration, Mara River crossing, hunting crocodiles
You will have an early morning game drive and then return to the camp for breakfast. All meals and overnight will be at Sense of Wilderness Migration Camp in Northern Serengeti.
