After breakfast, depart the lodge with packed lunch and drive to Serengeti National park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the rim for a spectacular view of the Ngorongoro crater.  Continuing as far as the eyes can see is the vast Serengeti.  “Serengeti” means endless plain.  And this is 6900 sq. mile (1800 sq. km).  It is also home to 2,000,000 wildebeests and 800,000 zebras.  Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, it is famed for its annual
migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. In central Serengeti, you will have high chances of seeing the elephants, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, gazelles, impalas, lions, leopards,
cheetahs and many more. You will arrive at your accommodation in good time for dinner and overnight.
